Position Summary:

The School of Education Director of Enrollment Management is the lead member of the School’s enrollment management team with primary responsibility for the recruitment, admission and enrollment of new graduate students in the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University. The SOE Director of Enrollment Management provides leadership in the achievement of enrollment targets and is responsible for admissions policies, processes, and practices. S/he supervises a professional admissions team who are responsible for recruitment inquiries, applicants, and incoming students throughout the admissions process. Under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Business Services, the Director tracks enrollment trends and communicates them in a timely, efficient and accurate manner to various constituents.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed enrollment targets for graduate students; support the School of Education’s and the University’s overall enrollment goals; collaborate with University partners for UG enrollment. (intangible percentage – 100%)
• Collaborate with key faculty and academic program directors in the recruitment of students into various degree, credential and certificate granting programs (15%)
• Work closely with the Graduate Division of Loyola Marymount University in following established parameters and standards. (5%)
• Plan, administer and facilitate LMU’s School of Education New Student Orientation program, in conjunction with other members of the School of Education. (5%)
• Develop and implement strategic graduate recruitment plans; collect, analyze and report on enrollment trends; make recommendations for budget targets based on potential enrollment in all degree, credential and certificate programs in the School of Education. (15%)
• Supervise a staff, including hiring, training and performance evaluations, to ensure consistency in communication and support to students and programs ; Provides effective and stimulating leadership to all personnel in Enrollment Management. (15%)
• Supervises the development and modification of job descriptions, training and cross training and personnel deployment of all staff employees in Enrollment Management. (5%)
• Develop, implement, and monitor admissions policies and procedures consistent with current federal regulations that function efficiently and fairly from inquiry through enrollment (10%)
• Collaborate with marketing team and others to develop compelling content for recruitment communications, website, print publications, advertising, etc. (5%)
• Direct the School of Education’s interface with CRM software (SLATE) – (5%)
• Analyze and report market and enrollment trends as part of periodic program review process (5%)
• Administer SOE funded awards in conjunction with other School of Education key staff, recommend appropriate discount rates, and provide guidance for future action based on market research (5%)
• Manage the graduate admissions budget and provide input on its development (5%)
• Ensures, through personal leadership example and supervision, that all personnel and activities of the Enrollment Management department project a favorable image of the University upon staff, student body, faculty and the general public (intangible percentage – 100%)
• Builds, promotes and sustains positive cooperative relations with Los Angeles area school districts, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Charter Management Organizations; the LMU community; the general public; other colleges and universities and community colleges (5%)
• Other duties as assigned


Minimum 10 years of experience in higher education preferably with at least five of those years in a Director, administrator, or supervisory role or the equivalent; and at least three years of professional experience and success in admissions, preferably in the context of graduate education and/or higher education, experience with private, tuition-dependent institutions also desirable.

Strong leadership and supervisory experience, ability to motivate staff; excellent analytical, communication, and networking skills; ability to build teams and collaborate effectively with other managers; demonstrated support of diversity goals in staff supervision and student enrollment; international experience and second language proficiency desirable.

Required Education:

Typically a Master’s degree in education, marketing, or related field. A terminal degree preferable.

Work Conditions:
Local travel to other sites as well as office setting. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Position requires some evening and weekend hours as well as travel; flexible scheduling.
