Position Summary:

Performs a variety of administrative duties to support the Event Services office by reserving campus wide events in the university scheduling database.

Position Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide traditional administrative support in the daily operations of the Scheduling Office by enforcing routing policies, answering phones, filing, procedures and input reservations.
  • Enter and maintain space and client information in Resource 25 scheduling database.
  • Assist with event reservation process by approving daily event requests and communicating with clients via email and phone.
  • Communicate with clients regarding possible event reservations and equipment usage.
  • Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of the Event Services website.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Some experience in a customer service setting. Experience in event/conference technology is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the principles of organization. Knowledge of various aspects of event/conference management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to communicate well with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, all levels of administrators, and other using tact and diplomacy at all times.
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks with varying deadlines. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and flexibility in handling last minute changes.
  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Basic knowledge of office machines, word processing, spreadsheet, email and databases. (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 
  • General knowledge of standard office procedures.
Required Education:
  • Typically a high school diploma or equivalent.
